Undisputed Godfathers of Sludge, Eyehategod are considered as one the most important acts emerged from the NOLA metal scene, a living legend that made its first appearance more than 30 years ago, in 1988. Their style has remained unchanged since then: an annihilating mix of Doom Metal and Hardcore Punk never heard before, incorporating elements of Black Sabbath, The Melvins and Black Flag into a new, unparalleled musical entity. Their sound is filthy and truly unique, dominated by heavy, detuned, distorted and bluesy guitar riffs combined with the tortured and excruciating vocals of Mike Williams, yelled over a thick wall of feedbacks. Their harsh misanthropic vibe is still a huge source of inspiration for tons of bands all over the world and we are damn proud to have them on the opening day of Frantic Fest 2019.
